We just need to realize that there is much not difference between our Protestant brethern and our Catholic or Orthodox brethern. My very elderly godmother was one of those. But there are many engaged Catholics out there that are extremely engaged in learning the faith. The Church simply tells them what to do so they feel no reason to delve into the thing we, as ex-Protestants used to do. More of a fulfill the check in/ check out mentality. Sadly, no fault of those raised in the faith, many are simply cultural Catholics. I did find out that Dan Schutte music has gained popularity recently among the LGBTQWERTY music directors crowd upon finding out others want to stop using it. But at the same time I don't see his earlier music as any sort of anthem for homosexuality in the Church. What to do about Dan Schutte music? I could see stopping using it.
